What this site knows about you.
Almost nothing, and this page says exactly what.
The short version
No cookies are set. No advertising runs here. Nothing you do on this site is tied to a profile, sold, or shared with anyone, and there is no login to be tracked by.
Three things do reach a third party, and they are listed below because "we respect your privacy" is worth nothing without the specifics.
Visitor counting
Page views are counted with GoatCounter, an open-source analytics service chosen because it collects no personal data. It sets no cookies, assigns no persistent identifier, and does not track anyone between sites or between days.
What it records for each view: the page, the referring site, a rough country from your IP, and a coarse browser and screen size. Your IP address itself is not stored — it is used to generate a salted hash that is discarded daily, which is what makes repeat visits uncountable and you unidentifiable. Under GDPR this needs no consent banner, which is precisely why there isn't one.
If you would rather not be counted, any tracker blocker stops it, and the site works identically without it.
Images
Country photographs are hotlinked from Unsplash and Wikimedia Commons rather than copied onto this server, because both licences ask that credit and traffic go back to the photographer. Loading a country page therefore requests an image from one of those two CDNs, and that request necessarily reveals your IP address and browser to them. Their respective privacy policies apply to it.
Everything else — fonts, styles, scripts, maps, data — is served from this domain.
Links out
Links to insurers, government advisories and news sources go to third-party sites with their own policies. None of them are affiliate or tracking links: nobody pays for placement here, and no referral identifier is attached.
If you write to travelriskatlas@proton.me, that message sits in a Proton Mail inbox and is used to answer you and to fix the site. It is not added to any mailing list, because there isn't one.
